The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, has directed the annulment of all public sector appointments and recruitment made after December 7, 2024.
This directive comes in response to concerns about non-compliance with good governance practices and principles.
The annulment is due to the appointments being inconsistent with the government’s stance on end-of-tenure recruitment and not in compliance with good governance practices.
A letter sent to all heads of government institutions informed them of this directive, and they are required to take immediate action to annul the appointments and submit a comprehensive report on their actions to the Office of the Chief of Staff by February 17, 2025.
The letter emphasized that the appointments made after December 7, 2024, do not adhere to established good governance practices and principles.
The Chief of Staff has asked for full cooperation from government institutions on this matter.
